Good reasons to keep funding TVNZ 7 (to mention in your email):

• Consistently good quality programmes
• NZ's only public broadcaster
• The only channel that is primarily for public benefit rather than purely commercial reasons
• An opportunity for journalism that does not need to win ratings or circulation
• Any self-respecting western country funds public broadcasting - Australia has SBS, UK has BBC, US has PBS, we have TVNZ7
• Kidzone is the only commercial free children's channel
• Encourages innovation in television programming and production
• Digital uptake is far from complete and the switchover starts in just over a year
• TVNZ7 strengthens TVNZ's presence in the broadcasting sphere
• Local content levels will drop alarmingly if TVNZ7 stops
• It keeps the 'lefties' out of the mainstream (joke)
