Dr Helen Anderson

Director, BRANZ and Seismologist

Helen trained as a seismologist specialising in large earthquakes at Cambridge University. She was an active researcher for nearly 20 years before joining the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology as Chief Scientific Adviser and then later Chief Executive. She is now a professional director of BRANZ and NIWA, amongst others, and is a member of the DBH expert panel's "Inquiry into the performance of Christchurch CBD buildings".
