Charles Waldegrave

Charles Waldegrave heads the Family Centre Social Policy Research Unit. He is a joint research leader of three large scale collaborative research programmes with New Zealand universities: the New Zealand Poverty Measurement Project (NZPMP); Enhancing Wellbeing in an Ageing Society (EWAS); and the New Zealand Longitudinal Study of Ageing (NZLSA). The Family Centre led a 5 month psycho-social programme in affected villages in Samoa after the 2009 tsunami. He led a team that was contracted by the Ministry of Social Development to train front line workers addressing trauma in Christchurch after the February quakes this year. ![]()
