Wanted: enthusiastic North Island clubs with organisational skills

The new HillClimb series has been given the all go by the Executive, so now is the time for clubs to provide concrete backing for an idea many were keen to support.

Several South Island clubs are developing proposals for running the two SI rounds. That may involve two nearby clubs banding together – one to run the first day on seal, the other the second day on gravel (or vice versa) or one club taking on both days.

But I need to hear from clubs in the North Island. There have been a couple of tentative enquiries but the clock is ticking and we need to get concrete plans in place before we can look for sponsorship and other support.

I believe this is a huge opportunity to rekindle public interest in an aspect of the sport which once drew very big crowds. So let’s hear from the North Island clubs and get some plans locked up.
