This from Daphne who helped organise a Save Radio NZ rally yesterday in the Waikato ...
"More than sixty people braved the rain in Garden Place, Hamilton yesterday to oppose cuts to RNZ and stayed on despite the weather.
We had a reasonable mix of age groups but more in the older demographic. Encouraging to have a young woman say- I want decent radio!
At a meeting at the Trade Union Centre in the evening a smaller group got down to a thoughtful discussion of options for action and the need for an ongoing organisation. Jake Quinn provided useful input as did Martin Gallagher."
