The 'How do New Zealanders
Give?' series

This series of Quarterly Generosity Indicators arose from a collaboration between the OCVS and the Generosity Hub, a cross-sectoral group from business, government and the non-profit sector.

More detailed analysis will be undertaken in future releases, including investigation of any emerging trends and analysis of a wider range of variables, such as ethnicity, income, region and age group. This will also include analysis by specific sub-sectors (i.e. sports clubs, social services, religion).

The 2008 Update summarises changes in the volunteering and donating rates in New Zealand from 2007 to 2008. It highlights these changes by key demographics (age, sex and ethnicity), by different subsectors of the community and voluntary sector, and by broad urban/rural region.
