2010 Otto Klineberg Award
Following on the heels of Colleen’s recent award, there’s been another success for the Centre: CACR Fellow Ron Fischer and recent CACR alumni Katja Hanke have been given the 2010 Otto Klineberg Intercultural and International Relations Award.
The $1000 award is given by Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI), and Ron and Katja were given the award for their paper “Are societal values linked to global peace and conflict?” (published in the APA journal Peace & Conflict, 15, 227-248).
Ron has also been asked to sit on the next award committee.
This is a major international award and I’m sure you join me in wishing many congratulations to Ron and Katja.
You can read about the award (and see Ron and Katja's names) on the SPSSI website.
SPSSI (founded in 1936) is an independent society, also Division 9 of the American Psychological Association (APA) and an organizational affiliate of the American Psychological Society (APS). It has been represented at the United Nations as an NGO since 1987 and serves as consultant to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOCOC).
Nice one!
