Governance For Not-for-Profits
A full day course for individuals planning to become Directors/Trustees, Directors/Trustees of Boards, shareholders and anyone who wants to know more about how boards can operate more effectively.
Course Overview
Not-for-Profit Boards often fight the 'cash-strapped' road, consistently being constraint to achieve. Unpaid time freely given by many Board Members is valuable and necessary to keep the organisation functional, yet it brings with it further constraints by way of time tha tBoard members can make available. The mix of skills sets and competencies is often reliant on the volunteering spirit of people rather than selected in line with the organisation's strategic intent.
Course Content
This course recognises and works to overcome constraints faced and to show how a team of dedicated people working with the same values can make a significant difference to the organisation. It includes:
- How Not-For-Profit Governance is different
- Governance and Management
- Role of the Board (Resources)
- Values versus Returns
- Assessing Service Quality
