Back Office Skills for the Boardroom

A full day course for secretaries, legal counsels, and policy advisors to Boards.

Course Overview

The nature of the papers presented to a Board can have a strong influence on both its efficiency and effectiveness. Too much detail or long papers can waste valuable management resources and divert the board's attention from the key issue to be addressed. Inadequate information can also cause a problem for it can leave board members unsure of what the issue really is or encourage them to seek a better understanding of the issue for themselves – this in turn creates distrust.

The aim is to combine brevity, so that Board members are not overwhelmed, with sufficient detail, to clearly inform them of the matter to be dealt with and the issues that impact on that matter.
