Event: Discussion With Dame Fiona Kidman
Invitation to Wellington ALRANZ members and supporters
ALRANZ is delighted to invite you to hear Dame Fiona Kidman speaking to us about her latest book of short stories 'The Trouble with Fire'. In her writing, Dame Fiona explores the many facets of relationships. The story ‘Extremes’ (set in the 1970s when trips to Australia were common) poignantly considers two women's choices – one to have an abortion and another to continue with the pregnancy – and the consequences for the next generation.
Date: Saturday 3rd of September
Time: 1-3 pm
Venue: Mezzanine Community Room at Wellington Central Library, Victoria Street, Wellington
There will be time for comments and discussion, and Unity Books will kindly be selling copies of the book, which Dame Fiona will be happy to sign. Copies of Margaret Sparrow’s recently published book ‘Abortion then & Now: New Zealand abortion stories from 1940-1980’ will also be available.
Afternoon tea will be provided. There is no charge to attend this special event but donations are always appreciated.
Please feel free to pass this invitation on to anyone who might be interested – the more the merrier! Visit the Event Page on Facebook.
