According to news media reports, the jury in the Queensland abortion case took less than an hour to find Tegan Leach and Sergie Brennan not guilty of charges of procuring an abortion and supplying drugs to procure an abortion following a three-day trial.

Pro-choice supporters in the gallery of the Cairns court erupted into cheers. 

Pro-Choice Action Queensland issued a media release restating their commitment to continue the fight to repeal Queensland's century-plus old abortion laws. 

Spokeswoman Kathy Newnam said: “The Pro-Choice Action Collective and other abortion rights supporters have vowed to intensify their campaign against the anti-abortion laws."

The group is planning protest speak-out in Brisbane on Friday.
