Introducing Issues.co.nz
PROMOTE DEBATE INFLUENCE LISTEN

Issues.co.nz is New Zealand’s first website dedicated to the promotion of issues campaigns of any type; social, political, environmental, agricultural, and business, whether they be international, national or local issues.
Issues.co.nz is not aligned to any political party or interest group.
The site provides issue promoters with the ability to define, create and expose an issue in a unique and powerful web environment. And it’s not just about the presentation of information, it’s about all aspects of issues campaigns – media releases, blogging, surveys, events, supporter recruitment, fundraising and much more.

The audience is a highly influential mix of journalists, news consumers and key opinion leaders. While they may enter through the Issues.co.nz homepage to browse for issues, many other audiences will access the website via a specific issues campaign and then explore the many other issues within the community.

Why we created Issues.co.nz
The internet is forcing everyone to reconsider many old practices. Discussions about public issues are now open to everyone and are no longer the preserve of just the few who might wish to control them. We recognised that traditional media left too much control with the media channels themselves, rather than all who are entitled to have the conversations. We could also see that exposing an issue to the daylight of a public forum can give it more credibility and that a community can better understand its own risks and opportunities through more open discussion.
It follows therefore that effective issues campaigns should now embrace the opportunity the internet offers as an irresistible force for positive change.
Of course anyone promoting an issue should accept the privilege of an open forum, and they should also accept the responsibility. So this website does not merely provide a one-way platform for views, it encourages dialogue and debate.
